How to use this tool
Upload an image, and its embedded metadata is scanned for known AI generation tool names and the standard IPTC tag some tools use to mark algorithmically generated content.
This is a metadata check, not a pixel-based AI detector: it can only report what's written into the file, and metadata is easy to remove or forge, so treat the result as one data point rather than proof either way.

- Is this an AI detector?
- No. It doesn't analyze pixels or use a model to guess whether an image looks AI-generated, since those detectors are unreliable. It only reads metadata that AI tools sometimes embed directly in the file, like the tool name or an IPTC "digital source type" tag.
- Can this prove an image is real or fake?
- No. Metadata is easy to strip, edit, or fabricate, and many AI tools don't embed any identifying metadata at all. A missing signal doesn't mean the image is authentic, and this tool doesn't cryptographically verify anything it finds.
- Is my image uploaded to a server?
- No. The check runs entirely in your browser. Your image is never uploaded anywhere.
- What is a "digital source type" tag?
- It's a standard IPTC metadata field some tools use to mark content as trained-algorithmic (AI-generated) media. This tool checks for that tag along with the names of known AI image generators.
